Tyra Ferrell (born March 29, 1966) is an American actress.

Career

She appeared in Jungle Fever (1991), which starred Wesley Snipes and Annabella Sciorra. She also had roles in films such as Boyz n the Hood (1991), White Men Can't Jump (1992) (which again starred Snipes), and Poetic Justice (1993). At one time Ferrell also maintained a recurring role in the television series ER, and in the television series Quantum Leap on Episode "So Help Me God" on Second Season. She is also credited for her role in the 2000 HBO miniseries The Corner as Ms. Ella.

In 1991, Ferrell was listed as one of twelve "Promising New Actors of 1991" in John Willis' Screen World.[1] In 2005, she was nominated for an image award as an outstanding actress in a Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special for NTSB: The Crash of Flight 323 (2004)(TV).[2]
